The voice acting is also below standard, with most of the character's lines being dubbed over by an impersonator. The graphics used are cartoon-like and blend well with the storyline, but when it comes to sound effects, they are poor and far from perfect. With Barbossa still holding a grudge against Captain Hook, the two men travel to the aforementioned castle, rescue the remaining crew members, and finally confront the evil Captain. As always, the game starts in the Caribbean where a storm has hit and caused many ships to sink, leaving only three survivors - a priest, a boy called Barbossa, and his lover, Carina. In this game the Disney characters are again going after the fortune which belongs to their arch enemy Captain Hook. So they can afford to wait and sit on the franchise for a bit longer.Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End sees the return of the most famous pirate captain, Barbossa, as he is featured in the video games for the franchise. While they would certainly love more Pirates of the Caribbean movies because of how strong the brand is, they do not need it the same way. Now though, they have both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, which generate billions of dollars. Back then, Disney was heavily reliant on Pirates of the Caribbean as their big four-quadrant franchise and spent years chasing that success with many unsuccessful franchise attempts. The other major factor to consider is Pirates of the Caribbean is not the crown jewel live-action franchise for Disney that it was in the mid-2000s. The cost of the various Pirates of the Caribbean films did increase quite a bit, so is the financial risk worth it for them? Disney could gain plenty of money by bringing back Jack Sparrow, but they could also lose money. This is a more complex scenario with no clear answer.
This is not a one-sided issue like how Disney screwed over Robin Williams and was forced to make a public apology. It is a tricky situation, though as for as many fans who want to see Depp return as Jack Sparrow, there are still plenty who believe he is responsible for domestic abuse.
The demand for his return is apparent, as petitions online are literally demanding that Disney bring Depp back.
